The Redmi K70 series is poised to succeed the Redmi K60 lineup, with a potential launch in China this December. The base Redmi K70 model is expected to make its way to India as the Poco F6. While official details remain scarce, recent leaks have shed light on the device’s specifications.
A Weibo post by Xiaomi China President Lu Weibing highlighted the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset’s performance and power efficiency, suggesting its potential dominance in 2024, surpassing the Snapdragon 870. This fueled speculation that the Redmi K70, the anticipated successor to the Redmi K60, could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
In a separate Weibo post, user Experience More revealed Xiaomi’s plans to integrate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC into several upcoming devices, including the Xiaomi Mix Flip, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, and Redmi K70. The Redmi K70 is also expected to inherit several features from the Xiaomi 14 models, including enhanced camera, battery, and display capabilities.
This leak aligns with a previous report suggesting the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro’s adoption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The tablet is also rumored to feature an LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, marking a significant upgrade from the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
An earlier IMEI database listing revealed the Xiaomi Mix Flip (model number 2311BPN23C), a purported clamshell foldable expected to be the thinnest and lightest in its class. Its market launch is anticipated within the first quarter of 2024.
